Successful PowerLab workshop in Pakistan broadcast to 72 institutes

ADInstruments held an highly successful PowerLab workshop for Biomedical Engineers in Pakistan on 17th January.  The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology hosted more than 60 attendees from top Pakistan universities including LUMHS, Isra and NED.  A further 72 institutes linked by network were able to watch the workshop during a live broadcast using the university’s state-of-the art video conferencing facilities. Dawn, Pakistan’s oldest and most widely read English-language newspaper, reported the PowerLab workshop in its January 18th edition.  The newspaper reported that:

“The workshop provided comprehensive information on world class instruments and their first-hand experience to participants from different institutes of the Sindh”.

It also quoted Department chairman Prof. Dr. B.S. Chowdhry as saying “PowerLab could be used for more than 450 experiments of biomedical engineering, including biomedical instrumentation, physiology, pharmacology and biochemistry”.

Senior faculty members in Bioengineering were amongst the list of expert presenters that included: Prof. Mumtaz Ali Memon, Ex Prof. and Head of Department of Physiology, LUMHS, Jamshoro Prof. Syed Tauseef Zaidi, Prof. and Head of Department of Physiology, ZMU, Karachi Prof. Rajput, Vice Chancellor, MUET Prof. BS Chowdry, Chairman department of Biomedical Engineering, MUET Dr. Suhaila, Lecturer, NED University of Engineering, Karachi Dr. Khalida Shaikh and Dr. Nauman Aziz, ADInstruments, Pakistan.
