Release Notes for LabChart v7.1

LabChart v7.1 is compatible with Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit versions), Windows Vista (32 and 64-bit versions) and Windows XP (32-bit version) and all USB PowerLabs.
New Features
    Arithmetic
  • Arithmetic now includes a new function called 'block', which returns the current block number, starting at 1 for the first block in the file. When used in Arithmetic expressions in the Stimulator, it is reset to 1 at the start of each sampling session.
  • Arithmetic now includes a new function called 'SineWave(freq, amp)'.
Command Line Conversion of LabChart Files
LabChart now has a command line switch (/convert) which allows .adicht documents to be converted to other formats, such as .txt, using the command line. For this purpose, LabChart can be run even while another instance of LabChart is running. The extension of the output file determines the format. The export options dialogs are suppressed and all displayed channels will be saved in the converted file. See the LabChart Help for further information about this feature.

    Documentation
New 'Getting Started with LabChart' tutorials have been added.

    Read Scope
LabChart can now open and display Scope for Windows v3 and Scope for Macintosh v4 data files. Scope for Macintosh v3 files cannot be opened directly by LabChart, but they can be imported into Scope for Macintosh v4 and re-saved, LabChart can then open the resulting data files.

    Scope View
  • Scope View now supports displaying data in black-background mode. This can be enabled via the Display Settings dialog or a button on the toolbar of the Scope View.
  • Events produced from Blood Pressure and ECG Analysis can now be used to define pages with Scope Event mode.
  • The Chart and Scope Views now provide per-channel controls for setting a channel’s data color. The Scope View also provides the ability to choose Scope overlay colors.
  • The Scope View now supports drawing of overlays when printing or pasting the Scope clipboard contents as an image.
  • The Scope View has a new Scope Overlay Options dialog where it is possible to set a 3D overlay ‘offset’. This affects the way any overlay pages in the Scope view are drawn. The main purpose of this feature is to make it easier to identify outlying pages when setting exclusions.
  • The Scope View now supports page creation from LabChart comments (this mode is in addition to the current Event and Block modes).
    Shortcut Key Manager
The Shortcut Key manager allows all shortcut keys in LabChart to be viewed and changed from one convenient location, as well as supporting current methods of setting shortcut keys. It prevents multiple components from trying to use the same shortcut key, and allows a wider range of keys to be used (e.g. combinations involving the ALT key).

    Spectrum View
LabChart v7.1 includes a completely redesigned Spectrum View which includes the following new features:
  • Improved calculation method.
  • Operates both online and offline.
  • Power Spectral Density (PSD) plot of magnitude vs frequency.
  • Spectrogram plot of colour coded magnitude vs frequency vs time.
  • Data Pad calculations of PSD parameters over the current selection.
  • Channel calculations of PSD parameters.
  • The Spectrum text file format has changed from previous versions to handle multi-rate data. Column headers have been introduced, and frequency columns are used for a channel if its frequencies do not match those of the channel column before it.
    Stimulator
LabChart v7.1 includes a completely redesigned Stimulator, which includes many of the waveforms that were provided by the Scope for Windows Stimulator, these include the Double pulse, Ramp, Sin and Triangle waveforms. The ability to create custom Stimulator waveforms has also been added via the 'Customize...' dialog.

    Stimulator Panel
The new Stimulator provides enhanced functionality and a new design for the Stimulator Panel. The contents of the new Stimulator Panel are dynamic and are user-customizable through the Stimulator waveform customization dialog. When multiple stimulus output hardware is connected, the Stimulator Panel is organized into separate groups of parameter controls with each group supporting a different output. The Stimulator Panel remains a floating 'modeless' dialog and a lightweight access point to commonly used waveform parameters.
