Human electro-oculography (EOG)

listening to heart soundsThe aim of the Electro-oculography (EOG) experiment is to investigate eye movements by recording an electro-oculogram. The exercises cover the principles of the EOG.

In this experiment, the students will examine the EOG in the horizontal plane, slow tracking, saccades, and nystagmus.

This experiment is suitable for students at introductory or advanced levels who have a familiarity with the PowerLab data acquisition system.

Three shielded snap-on lead wires
Disposable pre-gelled ECG electrodes
Electrode Cream
A book or a page of text for reading
Meter stick or tape measure
Colored chalk or tape
Ballpoint pen
