Spirometers are precision differential pressure transducers that is used with a PowerLab for measurements of respiratory flow rates. One of the key advantages to using LabChart in parallel with this equipment is the settings options in the free Spirometry Extension. Spirometry is a LabChart extension used to derive a number of respiratory parameters based on flow and volume including VE, VT, frequency, PIF, PEF, FVC and FEV1. Spirometry Extension provides users a range of software presets and environmental variables that will save you the trouble of a manual calibration.23 May 2013 Online
The electro-oculogram (EOG) is a recording of eye movements non-invasively using skin surface electrodes placed around the orbit. The technique makes use of a 4-6mV standing voltage potential that exists between the pigmented epithelium at the back of the eye and the cornea at the front, creating a dipole. Known as the corneo-fundal potential, it provides for an ideal set of exercises in a typical physiology lab setting. Using EOG students can measure the significance of angular displacement measurements, smooth tracking and gaze holding phenomena.28 May 2013 Online
