The electro-oculogram (EOG) is a recording of eye movements non-invasively using skin surface electrodes placed around the orbit. The technique makes use of a 4-6mV standing voltage potential that exists between the pigmented epithelium at the back of the eye and the cornea at the front, creating a dipole. Known as the corneo-fundal potential, it provides for an ideal set of exercises in a typical physiology lab setting. Using EOG students can measure the significance of angular displacement measurements, smooth tracking and gaze holding phenomena.2 Jul 2013 Online
