ADInstruments today released LabTutor teaching experiments in Spanish, Portuguese, German and Japanese. LabTutor software incorporates real-time physiological and biological recording and analysis into a collection of easy-to-follow experiments. The experiments enable more students to benefit from using PowerLab data acquisition and analysis systems from the beginning of their life science education.
English language LabTutor experiments are already part of science, medical and nursing curriculums in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. With the 14 freshly translated Human Physiology experiments, more students are now able to investigate physiological principles in their own language. In each experiment, students use themselves or their classmates as subjects, and record and analyze cardiovascular, respiratory, muscular and neural signals.
LabTutor experiments lead students through each stage of the experiment, starting with background scientific principles, and continuing through equipment set-up, data acquisition, analysis and submitting a laboratory report to their instructor.
During acquisition exercises, the software automatically adjusts the PowerLab hardware’s filtering settings to suit the experiment, and optimize the signal being recorded. Classes are not distracted by technical problems, resulting in more engaged students and more productive laboratory sessions.
LabTutor’s translation reflects ADInstruments’ commitment to the global life science community. The company’s research-grade data acquisition and analysis software, Chart, is already available in Chinese, French, Japanese and Spanish, and PowerLab users are supported by 12 ADInstruments offices and over 40 distributors worldwide.
