Continuous Non-Invasive Human Blood Pressure Measurement with the Finometer MIDI

Go to ADResearch Go to ADEducation Go to ADPharma The Finometer MIDI and PowerLab data acquisition system integrate seamlessly to allow researchers to continuously and non-invasively record beat-to-beat arterial blood pressure from humans.

Finometer MIDI

The MLE1054-V Finometer MIDI is ideal for observing trends in brachial blood pressure. It provides relative accuracy and robust continuous measurement.

Finometer MIDI Features
  • Hydrostatic height correction unit to compensate for hand movements with respect to heart level
  • Automatic finger arterial diameter calibration by the PhysioCal (Physiologic Calibration) algorithm
  • Direct connection to PowerLab data acquisition systems using a BNC cable
  • Simultaneous recording of ECG using the optional FMS ECG Module hardware (MLE1062)
  • Software control of the Finometer Hardware using the optional BeatScope Easy software (MLE1055)
  • Beat-to-beat calculation of 15 hemodynamic parameters including cardiac output, stroke volume, total peripheral resistance and baroreflex sensitivity using the optional BeatScope 1.1a software (MLE1056)
The Finometer MIDI is supplied with both a medium and small finger cuff. Large finger cuffs and additional small and medium finger cuffs can be purchased separately:

Ideal for Use with PowerLab Data Acquisition Systems

PowerLab systems with LabChart software acquire the arterial blood pressure signal from the Finometer MIDI using a standard BNC cable. As PowerLab systems are available with four, eight or sixteen input channels, the pressure signal can be recorded at the same time as other physiological signals from the same subject.

Software-controlled amplifiers can be used to record signals such as ECG, EMG, EEG, EOG, temperature, respiratory airflow and volume, GSR and others. The amplifiers offer high accuracy, wide gain ranges, high resolution and application-specific filters.

As well as recording and displaying the raw pressure signal LabChart software can:
  • record, analyze and display up to 32 channels (analysis and computations can be performed online and offline)
  • log extracted parameters from the signal into the Data Pad, including beat-to-beat systolic, diastolic and mean pressure values
  • automatically detect, analyze and report a set of cardiovascular parameters using the optional Blood Pressure Module
  • display, average, analyze and extract the subject’s ECG parameters using the optional ECG Analysis Module

ADInstruments has a worldwide distribution arrangement to sell the Finometer MIDI with the exception of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland, the UK and Ireland. Please contact us for more information.
