LabChart 6: A New Generation of Software for PowerLab

What’s New in LabChart 6?

• 32 Channels – LabChart 6 supports twice as many channels as any previous version of Chart. In addition to recording up to 16 channels of raw data using a PowerLab data acquisition unit, you will now be able to use more channels to display and compare analyzed and calculated signals.
• Smart Layout – Mac OS X and Windows Vista have set new standards for software layout and appearance. LabChart 6 meets and exceeds these standards with a new graphical toolbar, and a layout you can customize to suit your screen and analysis. The LabChart 6 for Mac toolbar below features standard LabChart tools in the top row, and tools from optional LabChart Extensions and Modules in the second row.
  




• Variable Sampling Speeds – Integrated recordings are now easier than ever with the ability to vary sampling speeds across different channels in the same LabChart file. You can now simultaneously record signals as different as breathing activity and an EMG using the appropriate sampling speed for each signal in the same data file.




• Native Performance on Intel Macs - LabChart for Mac is our first Universal Binary software application. This means that LabChart 6 will automatically run at peak performance on both Intel and Power PC Macs.
  
• Editable Macros in LabChart for Windows – Macros already save time for thousands of researchers doing long term, repetitive recordings and analysis. Now, LabChart for Windows users can save even more time by editing their existing macros, rather than creating entirely new macros for every minor change in recording protocols.


• Supported by LabChart Reader – We are also releasing LabChart Reader, a software application that can read and analyze LabChart data files. LabChart Reader is available as a free download, so you’ll be able to view your data files on any computer in any location, and share your data with colleagues, students and publishers more easily than ever before.

How can I start using LabChart 6?

Who Can Use LabChart 6? Compatible operating systems: Windows Vista and Windows XP Mac OS v10.4 or later (Universal Binary) Compatible PowerLab Hardware Current 30 series – 4/30, 8/30, 16/30 26 series – 2/26, 4/26, 26T 15 series – 15T Discontinued 25 series – 2/25, 4/25, 25T 20 series – 2/20, 4/20 SP series – 4SP, 8SP, 16SP LabChart 6 will support any PowerLab with a USB connection. It will not support any SCSI MacLab or PowerLab. If you are unsure if LabChart 6 is compatible with your operating system or PowerLab hardware, please check with your ADInstruments representative before purchasing or upgrading.

• Our gift to recent Chart 5 purchasers: If you purchased and received Chart 5 or Chart Pro since December 1 2007, you can update to LabChart 6 free-of-charge.
  
• All Chart Pro users are also able to update to LabChart 6 free-of-charge as part of their five years of free software upgrades.
• Existing PowerLab users can purchase an upgrade to LabChart 6 either through our online store or by contacting your nearest ADInstruments representative. Remember, if you choose to upgrade to LabChart Pro, you will be entitled to free software upgrades for five years.
