ADInstruments’ new release of LabTutor is now available. With central course management, experiment customization, more features and experiments, and optional online access, LabTutor 4 Teaching Suite brings even more benefits to educators and students.

ADInstruments 27th newsletter announces three major software releases (LabChart 7.1, LabTutor 4 and Spike Histogram 2) that save time and money in research and education. Also included: ADInstrument’s Corporate Giving Program, and a software tip on excluding signal artifacts.

The ADInstruments Corporate Giving program provides support to scientific and education communities worldwide. The Early Career Development Grant will facilitate excellence in life science research by providing up and coming post-doctoral fellows with world-class data acquisition systems. Applications for this grant are open to researchers with less than 6 years of post-doctoral research experience.

An additional 28 Korean experiments have been released for LabTutor 3. New experiments are available in collections including Pharmacology, PBL, Exercise Physiology and more. Existing LabTutor 3 users can download new experiments free of charge.

LabTutor 4 Teaching Suite (with Server and Online components) is out on March 15. With a new student interface, access to experiments via the Internet, freedom to customize experiment content and single-point course management, there are countless benefits for both educators and students.

The new LabChart Reader v7.1 is a free download that allows you to view and perform minor analysis on data files saved in LabChart 7.1 or earlier. LabChart Reader 7.1 is ideal for reviewing data whilst travelling or quickly collaborating with research partners who are interstate or overseas.
LabChart Reader 7.1 (Windows) can open and display Scope for both Windows and Mac data. LabChart Reader 7.1 (Macintosh) now has Apple Help topics for dialog and windows, and Apple Help buttons in over 20 locations for direct access to relevant help.
Remember to uninstall any previous versions of LabChart Reader prior to installation of LabChart Reader 7.1.

ADInstruments and LASEC SA are conducting a PowerLab workshop series throughout South Africa (Johannesburg and Stellenbosch), Kenya, Botswana and Namibia in April, 2010. These workshops will cover topics in Data Acquisition and Analysis for Life Science Research and Education and will provide life science researchers and educators hands-on experience with PowerLab data acquisition systems.
