Enhance learning with LabTutor Teaching Suite 4.3
The release of version 4.3 of LabTutor introduces even more great features to enhance learning. |
New features:
Visual feedback |
Visual Feedback in LabTutor 4.3 lets students navigate experiments easily and intuitively, especially in experiments that contain checkpoints. Information regarding the progress and status of experiments and experiment subsections is clearly displayed at the top of the page (shown top right). The experiment navigation drop-down list has also been enhanced to provide information on checkpoint pages (shown bottom right).

Interactive sub pagesSub pages are now more interactive with the inclusion of list control. Educators can incorporate sub pages into student exercises and questions - for example, students may be required to order a list of sub pages pertaining to a physiological event or process, and receive feedback on the correct order. In addition, you can now choose to use a sub page area controller in place of navigation arrows.
CheckpointsThe new Experiment Checkpoint feature lets educators lock certain experiment sections. This helps prevent students browsing through all pages of the experiment in order to access answers to report and multiple choice questions. As well as encouraging students' independent and critical thought when writing reports and answering questions, the checkpoint system enables educators to identify strengths and weaknesses in their students' understanding of science. |
Where experiment checkpoints are implemented, students are required to commit their in-progress experiment (by completing report pages and answering questions) before being permitted access to subsequent experiment sections. Although pre-checkpoint work cannot be altered, previous answers and experiment pages can still be viewed. |

HD video streaming on LabTutor OnlineStudents using LabTutor Online can stream the highest quality videos with virtually no delay, with LabTutor 4.3 supporting multimedia hosted on high-speed Content Delivery Networks. In addition, the release of the LabTutor Documentaries provides LabTutor Online users with a bonus collection of educational multimedia resources. These include a number of high-quality medical physiology documentaries, such as Diabetes: In Search of a Miracle and Donated to Science.
New Applied Nursing CollectionThe Applied Nursing collection is also a convenient way to expose students to real and educationally-relevant patients in the classroom without the logistic problems faced in organising hospital visits. The new collection integrates patient video interviews, real patient data and clinical test results with related physiology practical sessions. This integration allows nursing students to learn key physiological and pathophysiological concepts, and how they relate to nursing practice.
