FUN educator workshop 2011: The ABCs of the neurophysiology lab

At the 2011 Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience (FUN) meeting, Wes Colgan (Education Project Manager, ADInstruments, Inc.) will share his extensive experience in undergraduate level neurophysiology education and curriculum development to help ensure your students take home a well-rounded laboratory experience. In the workshop The ABCs of the neurophysiology lab: Successful student data acquisition of human biopotentials, Wes will speak about the three Ps (preparation, protocol and post-hoc analysis), and offer techniques and procedures to help you avoid common mistakes in the neurophysiology teaching laboratory. |

Wes will cover the best practices and variations on student techniques for recording biological signals such as HRV, EDR, EMG, VEP, EOG, EEG, SNA, the diving response, nerve conduction, reflexes and much more. The incorporation of case studies, pathologies and other ancillary materials into labs will also be discussed. |
