LabTutor v3 and LabAuthor v3: New Features, New Experiments and LabChart v7 Technology
PowerLab LabTutor Teaching Systems in teaching labs worldwide now can use the latest LabChart 7 technology. By incorporating LabChart 7 engine into LabTutor v3, students can now take advantage of new features such as page-based averaging of signals using Scope View. Other new LabTutor features include support for media files, new amplifier and stimulator options, MSI Installer technology and neutral culture support.
The LabAuthor application has also been upgraded. It now makes it even easier to customize and create LabTutor experiments with new toolbox options and greater layout flexibility.
New LabTutor Features
LabTutor with LabChart 7 technology
Ability to perform page-based averaging of data in LabTutor using the same Block-mode or Event-mode settings as in LabChart 7.

Media Files Support
Media files such as movies, audio and Flash animations are now supported.
New GSR Amplifier and Stimulator Options
Students can now adjust the constant-current pulse duration, frequency and amplitude of the ML155 Stimulator HC and perform zeroing operations on the ML116 GSR Amp.
MSI Installer Technology
MSI Installer technology for safer and easier installation of LabTutor.
Neutral Culture Support
LabTutor v3 neutral culture support automatically displays the date, time and numerals according to the user’s locale, as long as it matches the experiment language.
New LabAuthor Features
Additional Toolbox Functions
Additional toolbox page items in LabAuthor are available for embedding media files, PDF documents, Stimulator HC settings panel and Zero Input button in LabTutor.

Greater Layout Flexibility
The positioning and resizing of page items can be changed outside the traditional 10x10 pixel grid allowing greater layout flexibility.
New Experiment Collections for Nursing Education
Nursing educators and students can now utilize PowerLab LabTutor Teaching systems in their laboratories. The new Nursing, Nursing (with Dissection) and Nursing Advanced Experiment Collections introduce nursing students to the principles of human anatomy and physiology, common pathophysiologies and measurement techniques such as blood pressure, arterial pulses, respiration, reflexes and urine samples testing.
Each experiment features background information, patient or case scenario and various exercises. At the end of every laboratory session, a report page covering relevant scientific concepts and completed patient cases is generated, that can be submitted electronically. The Nursing (with Dissection) Experiment Collection provides supplementary tissue dissection exercises to the Nursing Experiment Collection. The Nursing Advanced Experiment Collection features additional patient case studies with pre-recorded laboratory data for students to gain greater understanding of clinical tests and common pathophysiologies.
