ADInstruments 29th newsletter announces exciting new products for almost every application. Featured are the new-look PowerLab and Front End 35 series units, with new hardware filters and environmentally friendly parts. This next generation PowerLab is supplied with our newly released Telemetry Research system and psychophysiology systems. Other new products include LabTutor 4.2 Suite (coming soon!), teaching kits, and accessories. You can read about PowerLab's central role in psychophysiology research at UNSW, and how LabTutor transformed teaching labs at Goethe University in Germany. A Parisian research group are using PowerLab systems to help understand why we mimic the emotional facial expressions we perceive in others during social interactions. As part of their studies, the group has configured their PowerLab’s digital inputs to automatically annotate LabChart’s physiological recordings with events generated by their choice of experiment design and presentation software, E-Prime.

Develop surgical skills in acute and chronic instrumentation in rats and mice at a three-day workshop for researchers and technicians. This hands-on workshop will be hosted by Maastricht University’s Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht (CARIM) and held from Wednesday March 30 – Friday April 1 2011.

Leading the group is Associate Professor Ute Vollmer-Conna, a brilliant researcher and colourful character whose early-career milestones included shepherding and carpentry.

ADInstruments and LASEC SA are conducting a PowerLab workshop series throughout South Africa (Johannesburg and Stellenbosch), Kenya, Botswana and Namibia in April, 2010. These workshops will cover topics in Data Acquisition and Analysis for Life Science Research and Education and will provide life science researchers and educators hands-on experience with PowerLab data acquisition systems.

ADInstruments Ltd has just announced our first intensive software training courses in the UK. The six courses will be held in Oxford on February 17 and 18 2010, and will include beginner and intermediate LabChart options, courses for cardiovascular and psychophysiology specialists, and two different LabAuthor courses for educators.

Life Science researchers and educators are invited to join ADInstruments Europe in Paris this summer for two workshops. The Tuesday June 30 workshop aims to improve data acquisition and analysis skills in psychophysiology researchers. The Wednesday July 1 workshop will give life science educators the opportunity to experience LabTutor software. Both workshops will be held at the BIUM (Bibliothèque Interuniversitaire de Médecine).
