Biphasic Stimulus Isolator (BSI-950)

Biphasic Stimulus Isolator (BSI-950)

Overview:

The BSI-950 is an economical analog input-analog output stimulus isolation unit for use with externally generated stimulation signals. The AC powered stages are photo isolated from the battery powered output stage. The unit is capable of producing biphasic current and voltage stimulation. The stimulator can be used with the output connections on any PowerLab to control the timing of the stimulator. The unit is supplied with a wall mount power supply (115V AC only).  This unit requires the PS-1 power supply for 220V operation (purchased separately).

Applications:

The Biphasic Stimulus Isolator is ideal for stimulation of neural tissues. Biphasic stimulators provide AC current via reversals of polarity and, therefore, prevent any damaging effects to the tissue.

For more information see the Neurophysiology Studies application page.
