Overview:
The ML191 Blood FlowMeter is a single-channel laser Doppler flow meter is used with a specialized fiber optic probe to measure blood cell perfusion in the microvasculature of tissues and organs. The unit has two analog outputs that can be connected directly to a PowerLab. One output provides a Laser Doppler Flowmetry (LDF) signal and the other provides a signal proportional to percentage backscatter (BSC) from the tissue.
For surface probes, the MSP140AR Adhesive Rings for Surface Probes are available for purchase separately.
Probes shipped with the ML191 Blood FlowMeter are calibrated in the factory and do not require further calibration. For probes that are purchased separately, the MLA191 Calibration Kit is required and is available for purchase separately. (Please note that the calibration solution of the MLA191 has a use by date).
Several surface and invasive fiber optic probes are available from ADInstruments and include:
MNP100XP Standard Pencil Probe
MNP110XP Fine Needle Probe
MNP150XP Bent Tip Pencil Probe
MSP100XP Standard Surface Probe
MSP110XP Digit Probe
MSP300XP Miniature Surface Probe (suturable)
MSP310XP Miniature Surface Probe (non suturable)
Features:
- Single channel laser Doppler flow meter for continuous monitoring of blood flow in microvascular beds
- Automated recognition of probes after calibration, with parameters automatically stored and recalled when the same probe is connected
- Two analog outputs that can be connected directly to a PowerLab; a Laser Doppler Flowmetry (LDF) signal and a signal proportional to percentage backscatter (BSC) from the tissue.
Applications:
The Blood FlowMeter can be used for:- Evaluation of vasoactive drugs on microcirculation
- Monitoring of peripheral circulation
- Monitoring of exposed animal tissue microcirculation
