Dual Wire Myograph System

Overview:

A research system for in vitro monitoring of smooth muscle function in one or two segments of small arteries, veins and other tubular tissues,such as bronchi and ureter (tissue diameters > 60 µm). The system includes a PowerLab 8/30 including LabChart, Scope and LabChart Pro software for recording and analyzing data using the Dual Wire Myograph. The myograph features include two stainless steel jaws, a control unit,temperature-controlled chamber, ports for oxygenation and solution removal, micrometers and built-in high-resolution force transducers.

The included DMT Normalization Module allows the user to easily and quickly determine and set pre-experimental conditions for the tissue. The module operates with LabChart Software on both Windows and Mac operating systems.

Data Acquisition and Analysis:
The PowerLab 8/30 is shipped with ADInstruments software (LabChart and Scope), associated manuals and cables. The ML870/P is also supplied with LabChart Pro software which includes all the ADInstruments LabChart Modules (excluding GLP). LabChart Modules provide application specific data acquisition, analysis and display features.

In purchasing this system containing LabChart Pro entitles the purchaser to 5 years of FREE LabChart Pro software upgrades and updates. Purchasers are also entitled to any ADInstruments modules released during this 5 year period (excludes GLP software).

• Ports for filling and injection of drugs
• Ports for rapid draining (a vacuum pump is required for drainage and is not suppliedwith the systems)

Applications:

The DMT Wire Myograph System can be used to investigate the structure and function of small vessels and other tubular tissues with diameters of 60 to 400 µm. Suitable tissue samples that may be investigated with wire myography include small veins and arteries, bronchi and ureter.

Dual Wire Myograph and is ideal for investigating two isolated tissues simultaneously in isometric conditions (the 10 ml chamber can be divided to give 2 x 5 ml). For more information see the Wire Myography application page.
