Confocal Wire Myograph System

Confocal Wire Myograph System

Overview:

This system allows for simultaneous in vitro monitoring of smooth muscle contractile function in small arteries and measurements of intracellular [Ca2+] or pH, using laser scanning microscopy (Optical components not included). The system includes a PowerLab 8/30, LabChart, Scope, LabChart Pro software and Confocal Wire Myograph. The myograph features specialized tissue mounts which allow vertical as well as horizontal positioning of the tissue and easy access for microscope lenses. The myograph also includes a built-in heater, force transducer and micrometer. Optical components are not included.

The DMT Normalization Module included in LabChart Pro software allows the user to easily and quickly determine and set pre-experimental conditions for the tissue. The module operates with LabChart Software on both Windows and Mac operating systems.

Data Acquisition and Analysis:

The PowerLab 8/30 is shipped with ADInstruments software (LabChart and Scope), associated manuals and cables. The ML870/P is also supplied with LabChart Pro software which includes all the ADInstruments LabChart Modules (excluding GLP). LabChart Modules provide application specific data acquisition, analysis and display features.

The modules currently available include:

In purchasing this system containing LabChart Pro entitles the purchaser to 5 years of FREE LabChart Pro software upgrades and updates. Purchasers are also entitled to any ADInstruments modules released during this 5 year period (excludes GLP software).

For more information see the LabChart Pro page or contact your nearest ADInstruments representative.

Applications:

The Single channel Confocal Wire Myograph that is specifically designed for use with confocal microscopic techniques. This system allows for simultaneous in vitro monitoring of smooth muscle contractile function in small arteries and measurements of intracellular [Ca2+] or pH, using laser scanning microscopy (Optical components not included). It enables highly resolved images of fluorescent dyes in living tissues to be obtained with a laser-scanning confocal microscope (LSCM).

For more information see the Wire Myography application page.
