Mikro-Tip BP Foundation System

Mikro-Tip BP Foundation System

Overview:

The ML870B35 BP Foundation System is configured for measuring blood pressure in small (i.e. mice) through to large animals (i.e. sheep) and provides compatibility with a wide range of Mikro-Tip pressure catheter (purchased separately). Using a Mikro-Tip pressure catheter the user can place the sensor in the artery or heart to measure pressure directly. Combined with an ML870 PowerLab 8/30, ML221 Bridge Amp and  catheter interface cables, the LabChart and LabChart Pro Module software included in this system provides all the essential tools for measuring and analyzing blood pressure and determining cardiac function. Also available is a Pressure Gauge kit which provides the necessary items to calibrate pressure transducers.

Components:

Data Acquisition and Analysis:
The PowerLab 8/30 is shipped with ADInstruments software (LabChart and Scope), associated manuals and cables. The ML870/P is also supplied with LabChart Pro software which includes all the ADInstruments LabChart Modules (excluding GLP). LabChart Modules provide application specific data acquisition, analysis and display features.

The modules currently available include:

In purchasing this system containing LabChart Pro entitles the purchaser to 5 years of FREE LabChart Pro software upgrades and updates. Purchasers are also entitled to any ADInstruments modules released during this 5 year period (excludes GLP software).

For more information see the LabChart Pro page or contact your nearest ADInstruments representative.

Features:

The 8-channel PowerLab 8/30 data acquisition system provides the ability to not only record blood pressure but also to simultaneously record other physiological parameters such as temperature and ECG with the appropriate Signal Conditioners and Transducers. The LabChart software along with the Blood Pressure Module provides the power to extract data and analyze blood pressure to determine systolic, diastolic and mean arterial pressure along with measuring cardiac function by calculating dP/dt.

The Mikro-Tip catheter advantage:
  • Very little set-up and maintenance required – no fluid-filled catheters to prepare or maintain during experimentation.
  • High frequency response – accurately detects and represents signals of varying frequencies without loss of data information.
  • Signal integrity – the true waveform is represented with no distortion at high signal frequencies.
  • No signal artifacts – no dampening of signals due to air bubbles, or blockages in the catheter.
  • Sensor positioned at the tip – detection of signal at the signal source.

Applications:

The BP Foundation System is configured for measuring blood pressure in small (i.e. mice) through to large animals (i.e. sheep) and provides compatibility with a wide range of Mikro-Tip catheters. Using a Mikro-Tip pressure catheter the user can place the sensor in the artery or heart to measure pressure directly.
