The system is also supplied with LabChart Pro software which includes all the ADInstruments LabChart Modules (excluding GLP). LabChart Modules provide application specific data acquisition, analysis and display features. The modules currently available include:

LabChart Pro entitles the purchaser to 5 years of FREE LabChart Pro software upgrades and updates. Purchasers are also entitled to any ADInstruments modules released during this 5 year period (excludes GLP software).

For more information see the LabChart Pro page or contact your nearest ADInstruments representative.

Applications:

This Intracellular Recording System includes a high impedance electrometer designed specifically for intracellular studies. The system can be used to measure voltage and/or current across the membrane of a cell. There are many intracellular recording techniques including:
  • Voltage Clamp – measures the ionic current across a cell's membrane when the membrane potential is held at a constant
  • Current Clamp - measures the membrane potential changes when injecting a constant current into a cell through the recording electrode.
  • Patch Clamp – measures voltage or current across ion channels using a blunt a micropipette
  • Sharp Electrode Technique – measures the potential inside the cell membrane with a sharp electrode (glass micropipette with a smaller pore)
For more information see the Intracellular Recordings, Neurophysiology, Patch & Voltage Clamping and Evoked Potentials applications pages.
