Miniature Goniometer (Joint Angle Sensor)

Miniature Goniometer (Joint Angle Sensor)

Overview:

The MLTS720 Miniature Goniometer (Joint Angle Sensor) is a flexible, joint angle sensor. It can be used to measure the angle of any single degree of freedom small joints including fingers, toes, or mechanical parts. Because of its small size, the sensor can be mounted with a reusable, flexible adhesive polymer, which allows easy adjustment to a natural form along the neutral axis of the joint. The polymer may be used either directly on the skin, on a glove or on bio-compatible tape.  The sensor plugs directly into any PowerLab Pod port.

A larger joint angle sensor is also available in the MLTS700 Goniometer.  It is a bipolar angle sensor for single degree of freedom joints such as the knee and elbow. It can be used in conjunction with the MLA93 Tendon Hammer for tendon jerk experiments.

Applications:

The sensor is used in small joint angle studies in humans, animals, and mechanical parts and is ideal for use in undergraduate classes.
