Overview:
The PTK26 Stimulus Presentation Kit is ideal for use in student laboratories conducting a range of stimulus presentation and evoked response experiments. It allows monitoring of signals from a range of inputs (including the stimulus presentation computer) and in response sends TTL event markers to the digital input of a PowerLab (or other devices that enable TTL communication), which is then recorded in LabChart.
Please note that the typical experimental setup requires two computers (one for stimulus presentation and the other for recording).
Includes:
- MLE1320 SuperLab (Win/Mac, 1 pk) and StimTracker
- MLE1307 Response Pad (7-Buttons)
- MLE1312 SV-1 Smart Voice Key
- MLT1601/ST Response Meter (6m)
- MLAC38 Response Pad to PowerLab Cable (2m)
Additional Information: Teaching Systems Transducers and Accessories Booklet
Applications:
- Response/reaction time (RT, the time is the elapsed time between the presentation of a sensory stimulus and the subsequent behavioral response)
- Mental chronometry - the use of response time in perceptual-motor tasks to infer the content, duration, and temporal sequencing of cognitive operations
- Cognitive psychophysiology/cognitive neuroscience (perception, learning, adaptation)
- Behavioral neuroscience
- Decision making (processing)
- Psychometric psychology as an index of speed of processing in (indicates how fast the thinker can execute the mental operations needed by the task at hand or index of processing efficiency)
- Mental chronometry - the use of response time in perceptual-motor tasks to infer the content, duration, and temporal sequencing of cognitive operations
- Biofeedback - process that enables an individual to learn how to change physiological activity for the purposes of improving health and performance
- Stress response
