Dual Bio Amp/Stimulator
Overview:
The Dual Bio Amp/Stimulator is an integrated unit, consisting of two fully isolated differential amplifiers with an isolated stimulator suitable for use with humans. The Dual Bio Amp features are optimized to measure a wide variety of biological signals and can record EEG, ECG, and EMG. In conjunction with a PowerLab and LabChart, Chart, Scope or LabTutor software a wide range of appropriate filters are available. The isolated stimulator is electronically isolated from both ground and the dual bio amplifier. The unit features an audio output jack for headphones or powered speakers. Supplied with a MLA2540 5 Lead Shielded Bio Amp Cable and MLA2505 Shielded Lead Wires (5 snap-on). The stimulator is designed for human experiments with the output limited in current, duration, and repetition rate to minimize risk from inadvertent settings. The Bio Amp is certified and approved for human connection.
The following are some accessories suitable for use with the Dual Bio Amp/Stimulator:
MLA700 Reusable ECG Electrodes
MLA710 Chest ECG Electrodes
MLAWBT9 EEG Flat Electrodes
MLA0112/D ECG Lead Switch Box
MLADDF30 Stimulating Bar Electrode
Hardware:
ADInstruments signal conditioners only function with PowerLab data acquisition units and therefore are not suitable for use with other data acquisition systems.
Applications:
This Bio Amp can be used for recording EEG, ECG, EMG, EOG, ERG, sensory nerve action potentials (SNAP), visual evoked response (VER), cortical evoked potentials, and slow wave (smooth muscle) studies. Studies requiring bilateral measurements and integrated stimulation are particularly appropriate such as conductivity nerve conduction studies.Specifications:

- Input leakage current: <6 μArms @ 240 V, 50 Hz <4 μArms @ 120 V, 60 Hz
- Audio output: Stereo output supplying signals from both Bio Amp channels. Suitable for earphones, headphones, or most externally powered speakers. Output is a 100 mV signal for any full-scale signal. Current limited to ±5 mA.
Isolated Stimulator Output
- Output configuration: Constant-current stimulator with hardware limited repetition rate
- Isolation rating: 4000 Vrms to ground as per IEC601-1 2000 Vrms (60 seconds) to Bio Amp inputs
- Pulse duration: 50 to 200 μs (software-selectable)
