Goniometer (Joint Angle Sensor)

Goniometer (Joint Angle Sensor)

Overview:

The MLTS700 Goniometer (Joint Angle Sensor) is a robust bipolar angle sensor for single degree of freedom joints such as the knee and elbow. The angle is determined by the amount of light passing through a pair of optic fibers running along the length of the cantilever. A light sensor is contained in one of the enclosures. It can be used in conjunction with the MLA93 Tendon Hammer for tendon jerk experiments. The sensor can be connected directly to a PowerLab Pod port or the ML305 Pod Expander.

Applications:

The sensor is used in joint angle studies in humans and large animals and is ideal for use in undergraduate classes, particularly for tendon jerk experiments.
