Animal Oximeter Pod (Animal Clip)

Animal Oximeter Pod (Animal Clip)

Overview:

The ML325/AC Oximeter Pod is suitable for measuring pulse oximetry from an animal paw or tongue. The laser diode based pulse oximeter signal conditioner  provides a direct analog output of the partial oxygen pressure in blood in animals. Based on patented Nonin SpO2 technology, direct saturation readings in the range of 70 to 100% can be made without the need to perform any scaling.

The Pod is supplied with the MLT323 Animal-clip transducer which is a lightweight, ultra-sensitive clip-on sensor for use on the tongue or paw pad.

For a unit configured for measuring pulse oximetery in humans the ML320/F (Finger) or ML320/E (Earclip) Oximeter Pods are available.

Hardware:
ADInstruments signal conditioners only function with PowerLab data acquisition units and therefore are not suitable for use with other data acquisition systems.

Features:

  • Semiconductor light emitting diodes in the  transducer
  • Pre-calibrated to read in % SpO2. The scale is fixed at 100% SpO2
  • An alarm which will sound if the value of the SpO2 drops below 70% or a pulse could not be detected.

Applications:

The Animal Oximeter Pod with the Animal Clip transducer is suitable for measuring pulse oximetry from an animal paw or tongue. It is suitable for the measurement of oxygen saturation in the range 70 to 100 %, or to display a pulsatile waveform.

For more information refer to the Pulse Oximetry application page.
