Overview:
The PL3508B21 is a single channel wire myograph research system for in vitro monitoring of smooth muscle function in small arteries, veins and other tubular tissues, such as bronchi and ureter (tissue diameter > 60 µm to 3 mm). The myograph features include stainless steel jaws, a control unit, temperature controlled chamber, ports for oxygenation and solution removal, micrometer and a built-in high-resolution force transducer. A microvessel is mounted as a ring preparation by threading it over two parallel, stainless steel wires for measurement of force/tension development.
The supplied DMT Normalization Module software allows the user to easily and quickly determine and set pre-experimental conditions for the tissue.
System Components:
- PL3508 PowerLab 8/35 (includes LabChart software)
- MLAC01 BNC to BNC Cable (1 m)
- MLS260/7 LabChart Pro software
- DMT310A Single Wire Myograph
Data Acquisition and Analysis:
The PowerLab 8/35 is shipped with ADInstruments LabChart software that provides data recording integrity, display and analysis features. The research system is also supplied with LabChart Pro software, which includes all the ADInstruments LabChart Modules (excluding GLP Client and Server). LabChart Modules provide application specific data acquisition, analysis and display features.
LabChart Pro also entitles the purchaser to 5 years of FREE LabChart Pro software upgrades and updates. Purchasers are also entitled to any LabChart Module released during this 5 year period (excludes GLP Client and Server).
For more information see the LabChart Pro page or contact your nearest ADInstruments representative.
Features:
All of the DMT Wire Myograph units feature:- Built-in temperature control
- Ports for filling and injection of drugs
- Ports for rapid draining (a vacuum pump is required for drainage and is not supplied with the systems)
- Ports for gas supply
Applications:
The DMT Wire Myograph System can be used to investigate the structure and function of small vessels and other tubular tissues with diameters of 60 to 300 µm. Suitable tissue samples that may be investigated with wire myography include small veins and arteries, bronchi and ureter.
The Single Wire Myograph (max chamber volume = 10ml) is suitable for isometric experimentation. For more information see the Wire Myography application page.
