Millar P-V catheters have revolutionized cardiovascular research in small animals. These ultra-miniature catheters are capable of measuring both ventricular pressure and volume simultaneously and continuously from the intact beating hearts of rats and mice.
The SPR-819 is is a selectable segmented Pressure-Volume Catheter (1.4F, 6E, 9mm/14mm) which can be used in measuring ventricular function in either a mouse or small rat. The pressure sensor is located in the center, between the electrodes.
The catheter uses a low-profile connector for the pressure sensor and redel for the volume conductance. The catheter requires a PEC-4D
Catheter Interface Cable for measuring pressure and CEC-4B
Connection Cable for Conductance Catheter for connection to the
MPVS-300 or
MPVS-400 Pressure-Volume Unit.
By purchasing the CEC-10E PV Cable the SPR-819 catheter can be used with the 880-0168
MPVS Ultra Pressure-Volume Unit (small or large animals).
The SPR-819 can be used with the ML870B45
Pressure-Volume Foundation System which includes the following components:
CalibrationA
