Millar P-V catheters have revolutionized cardiovascular research in small animals. These catheters are capable of measuring both ventricular pressure and volume simultaneously and continuously from the intact beating hearts of rats and mice.
The SPR-902 is a Pressure-Volume Catheter (2F Polyimide Nylon) suitable for use in rats. This catheter is ideally suited for use in rat hearts using the closed chest carotid method. The pairs of platinum electrodes are separated by 0.5mm with the distance between each pair being 12mm. The catheter has two pressure sensors.
The catheter requires two PEC-4D
Catheter Interface Cable for pressure measurement and CEC-4B
Connection Cable for Conductance Catheter for connection to the
MPVS-300 or
MPVS-400 Pressure-Volume Unit.
