Perivascular Flowmeter Module

Perivascular Flowmeter Module

Overview:

The TS420 Perivascular Flowmeter Module (-P) is used with a Dual (T402) or Triple (T403) Channel Console. The module is used with Flowprobes to measure blood flow in a range of vessels. Flowprobes are available for any vessel type (acute or chronic studies) in mice through to pigs and sheep.

Flowprobe Selection & Ordering:
For assistance or advice in selecting the appropriate Flowprobe for a particular application consult your nearest ADInstruments representative.

Features:

  • Accurately measures volume flow of less than 1 ml/min
  • Expanded ultrasonic frequency range for the smallest flowprobes imaginable
  •  Implantable 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm mouse probes
  • 160 Hz bandwidth to accurately characterize flow dynamics at high mouse heart rates
  • Analog meter displays voltage proportional to flow
  • Easy access front panel receptable for chronic probe calibration keys

Applications:

The Perivascular Flowmeter Module (-P) is used with Flowprobes to measure ultrasonic blood flow in a range of vessels. Flowprobes of various sizes are available for implanting in animals (mice through to adult pig) aorta or pulmonary artery. These probes are available for both chronic and acute applications with the flow meters and are calibrated to provide the user with blood flow measurements in milliliters per minute.

In vivo applications include:
  • Myocardial Function
  • Coronary Circulation
  • Pulmonary Function
  • Renal Hypertension
  • Thrombosis Models
  • Nutrient Metabolism
  • MRI Studies
  • Fetal/Pregnancy Hemodynamics

More information about these applications can be obtained from the Blood Flow and Cardiac Output application pages.
