Overview:
The ML0186/C-V Panlab Eight Chamber Organ Bath includes tissue chambers, pre-heating reservoir coils, gas diffusers, tissue holders, micropositioners, a water pump, and thermostat controller (not shown).
Please Note: Isometric and isotonic force transducers are not supplied however are available for purchase for use with these organ baths
A variety of tissue chamber volumes are available (5, 10, 25 & 50mL). Tissue chambers and reservoir coils are located inside a thick perspex-walled water bath to maintain a constant temperature. With all components contained within the bath this ensures that the temperature within the tissue chambers does not fluctuate when refilling. Each reservoir coil has a capacity of approximately 60 mL – enough for even the largest tissue chamber.
The solid design, combined with the mass of the water bath minimizes vibration. Each tissue chamber has an adjustable gas diffuser for oxygenation and push buttons on the front of the unit control the filling and emptying of the tissue chambers via electrovalves. Electrovalves can be operated manually or by using the PowerLab digital outputs.
| Tissue Chamber Dimensions | ||
| Volume (ml) | Total Height (mm) | Internal Diameter (mm) |
| 50 | 126 | 28 |
| 25 | 126 | 20 |
| 10 | 126 | 14 |
| 5 | 126 | 11 |
Note: pre-configured 4, 8 and 16 chamber Panlab Organ Bath Systems are also available, which include: PowerLab systems, bridge amps, organ baths, thermostat controller and isometric force transducers.
Ordering information:
When ordering please specify tissue chamber size C = 5, 10, 25 or 50 mL
In addition, please specify the mains power voltage.
Where V= 115 for 110-115 mains power and 220 for 220-240 mains power.
Features:
- All-in-one design provides a compact portable unit
- 25 ml tissue chambers as standard (5, 10 and 50 ml chambers are also available on request)
- Electrovalves automatically fill and empty tissue chambers
- A heating rod built into each of the units
- A thermostat controller for control the water temperature surrounding the tissue chambers
- Pre-heating reservoir coils positioned within the water bath to heat the perfusate before entering the tissue chamber
- Wate rpump built into the water bath to circulate the heated water and ensure even heat distribution throughout the entire system
- Manipulators/micropositionersfor accurate positioning of the transducers and applying pre-tension to the tissue preparations prior to experimentation
Applications:
Panlab Organ Baths are used for in vitro dose response experiments, used extensively to investigate the physiology and pharmacology of tissue preparations from various species (chick, toad, rabbit, rat,guinea-pig, etc.) Some of the tissues that may be studied with an organ bath system include:Smooth Muscle:
- Vascular, e.g. arterial/aortic rings
- Guinea-pig ileum
- Vas Deferens (secretory duct of the testicle)
- Uterine
- Colon
- Toad Abdominus Rectus
- Chick Biventer Cervis
- Mammalian Diaphragm
