Overview:
The ML325/AW Oximeter Pod (Wrap Sensor) is configured specifically for measuring pulse oximetry from the animal tail. The laser diode based pulse oximeter signal conditioner provides a direct analog output of the partial oxygen pressure in blood. Direct saturation readings in the range of 70 to 100% can be made without the need to perform any scaling.
The Pod is supplied with the MLT324 SpO2 Wrap Sensor which is a flexible wrap sensor and is ideal for placement on the toe of a dog, large animal or the base of the tail of small animals.
Other options for Animal Pulse Oximetry are also available, which include the ML325/AC Animal Oximeter Pod (Animal Clip) and ML325/BS Animal Oximeter Pod (Base Sensor).
For a unit configured for measuring pulse oximetery in humans the ML320/F Oximeter Pod (Finger Clip) or ML320/E Oximeter Pod (Ear Clip) are available.
Hardware:
ADInstruments signal conditioners only function with PowerLab data acquisition units and therefore are not suitable for use with other data acquisition systems.
Features:
- Semiconductor light emitting diodes in the transducer
- Pre-calibrated to read in % SpO2. The scale is fixed at 100% SpO2
- An alarm which will sound if the value of the SpO2 drops below 70% or a pulse could not be detected.
Applications:
The Animal Oximeter Pod with the Tail Wrap transducer is configured specifically for measuring pulse oximetry from the animal tail. It is suitable for the measurement of oxygen saturation in the range 70 to 100 %, or to display a pulsatile waveform. For more information refer to the Pulse Oximetry application page.
