Overview:

The MLT1010 Pulse Transducer is a small, rugged unit that uses a piezo-electric element to convert force applied to the active surface of the transducer from the finger blood pressure pulse, into an electrical signal.

The Pulse Transducer connects directly to the BNC Input on any PowerLab or MacLab.
 

Features:

  • Connects directly to a PowerLab BNC analog input
  • Velcro® strap wraps around the finger
  • Detects expansion and contraction of the finger circumference, due to changes in blood pressure
  • Typical output is 50–200 mV but can reach as high as 500 mV.

Applications:

Applications include measurement of pulse rate or small animal respiratory activity. It is particularly suitable for use in the classroom as a means of studying heart rate.
