Overview:
The MLT325 SpO2 Base Sensor is a transflectance sensor that allows convenient sensor of placement on the underside, base of the tail or other well-vascularized surfaces of the animal and is used to measure the blood oxygen saturation (SpO2). It is then secured by using surgical or any other suitable tape (not included). It is supplied with the ML325/BS Animal Oximeter Pod (Base Sensor). The MLT323 SpO2 Animal Clip Sensor and the MLT324 SpO2 Wrap Sensor are also available separately.
Applications:
The MLT325 Base Sensor Pulse Oximetry Transducer is used to measure blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) in well vascularized tissue of an animal such as tongue, paw pad or tail. Quick and easy to apply, it is ideal for spot checking and short-term continuous monitoring of SpO2. Designed for applications where little transducer motion is expected.
Placing and securing the sensor examples:
- Can be applied to the rear or front feet, or to the ventral surface of the tail of a rat.
- Can be attached to the surface of an operating or imaging table and the foot simply taped in position over it. (best on a hard table or cradle with the animal in a prone position).
