5 Channel Wireless Neural Recording System

Overview:

The PL3508B82/F 5 Channel Wireless Neural Recording System allows researchers to continuously and simultaneously monitor/record from up to 5 neural microelectrodes (NOT included). Local Field Potentials (LFPs) and single unit or spike data are collected wirelessly from animals (ideally mice) up to 4 meters. ADInstruments do NOT provide any of the microelectrodes or mounting accessories. Microelectrodes may be available separately from the manufacturers such as:-

Custom ASIC technology and proprietary radio design techniques are used to provide high channel count functionality in a wireless headstage that is both small and light weight. This design also incorporates neural preamplifier circuitry to create an extremely compact and powerful transmitter.

The supplied Spike Histogram Module software provides the ability to record and analyze extracellular spike data in real time and offline.

Frequency (F) = 3 for 3GHz (Standard) or 3.4 for 3.4GHz (Alternate)

For the external battery options, the external battery is typically mounted in a jacket or pouch on the animal, usually away from the headstage placement. These jackets are NOT provided by ADInstruments but can be purchased separately from Lomir Medical.

Data Acquisition and Analysis:
The PowerLab 8/35 is shipped with ADInstruments LabChart software that provides data recording integrity, display and analysis features. The research system is also supplied with LabChart Pro software, which includes all the ADInstruments LabChart Modules (excluding GLP Client and Server). LabChart Modules provide application specific data acquisition, analysis and display features. 

LabChart Pro also entitles the purchaser to 5 years of FREE LabChart Pro software upgrades and updates. Purchasers are also entitled to any LabChart Module released during this 5 year period (excludes GLP Client and Server).
