Overview:
The PVR-1045 Millar P-V catheters has revolutionized cardiovascular research in small animals. These ultra-miniature catheters are capable of measuring both ventricular pressure and volume simultaneously and continuously from the intact beating hearts of rats and mice.
The PVR-1045 is a NON-REPAIRABLE ultra-miniature Pressure-Volume Catheter (1F Polyimide Nylon) suitable for use in mice with an effective length of 3.25 cm. The pairs of platinum electrodes are separated by 0.5mm with the distance between each pair of 4.5mm. The pressure sensor is located in the center,between the two pairs of electrodes.
The smaller diameter of the catheter minimizes the obstruction of blood flow in the vessel and allows for improved surgical access to the right ventricle, pulmonary artery and peripheral areas.
The PVR-1045 can be used with:

- Requires a PEC-4D Catheter Interface Cable (Low Profile to Redel, 4ft) for pressure measurement
- Requires a CEC-4B Conductance Catheter Connection Cable (discontinued) for volume measurement
Calibration
A Pressure Gauge kit which provides the necessary items to calibrate the pressure transducers is available. Please contact your nearest ADInstruments representative for any further information.
