Rat PV Catheter (1.4F, 6E, Selectable Seg, 9mm/14mm)

Overview:

The SPR-819 Millar P-V catheters have revolutionized cardiovascular research in small animals. These ultra-miniature catheters are capable of measuring both ventricular pressure and volume simultaneously and continuously from the intact beating hearts of rats.

The SPR-819 is a selectable segmented Pressure-Volume Catheter (1.4F, 6E, 9mm/14mm) which can be used in measuring ventricular function in a small rat. The pressure sensor is located in the center, between the electrodes.

The SPR-819 can be used with:

*Please note however, this catheter cannot be used with the 880-0168SS MPVS-Ultra Single Segment Pressure-Volume Unit.

Calibration
A Pressure Gauge kit which provides the necessary items to calibrate the pressure transducers is available. Please contact your nearest ADInstruments representative for any further information.

Features:

  • Ultra-miniature 1.4F pressure sensor
  • Six platinum electrodes with the distance between each pair of 9mm and 14mm
  • Pressure and volume measurement from a single instrument
  • Flexible, durable, small-diameter catheter material
  • High frequency response
  • Pressure measurement at the source
  • No motion artifact or damping of pressure signal

Applications:

This catheter combines pressure sensors and electrodes for simultaneous high fidelity pressure and volume measurements, enabling minimally invasive, continuous, intracardiac pressure-volume analysis in a small rat.
