Rat PV Catheter (2F, 4E, 14mm, 15cm, PI)

Overview:

The SPR-858 Millar P-V catheters have revolutionized cardiovascular research in small animals. These ultra-miniature catheters are capable of measuring both ventricular pressure and volume simultaneously and continuously from the intact beating hearts of rats and mice.

The SPR-858 is an ultra-miniature P-V Catheter (2F Polyimide) suitable for use in rats. The pairs of platinum electrodes are separated by 0.5mm with the distance between each pair being 14mm. The catheter has a working length of 12/12.5cm and an effective length of 30cm. The pressure sensor is located in the center, between the two pairs of electrodes.

The SPR-858 can be used with:

Calibration
A Pressure Gauge kit which provides the necessary items to calibrate the pressure transducers is available. Please contact your nearest ADInstruments representative for any further information.

Features:

  • Ultra-miniature 2F pressure sensor
  • Four platinum electrodes are separated by 0.5mm with the distance between each pair of 14mm
  • Pressure and volume measurement from a single instrument
  • Flexible, durable, small-diameter catheter material
  • High frequency response
  • Pressure measurement at the source
  • No motion artifact or damping of pressure signal

Applications:

This catheter combines pressure sensors and electrodes for simultaneous high fidelity pressure and volume measurements, enabling minimally invasive, continuous, intracardiac pressure-volume analysis in a rat.
