Overview:
The SPR-866 Millar P-V catheters have revolutionized cardiovascular research in small animals. These ultra-miniature catheters are capable of measuring both ventricular pressure and volume simultaneously and continuously from the intact beating hearts of mice.
The SPR-866 is a selectable segmented Pressure-Volume Catheter (1.4F, 6E, 4mm/6mm) which can be used in measuring ventricular function in a mouse. The pressure sensor is located in the center, between the electrodes.
The SPR-866 can be used with:
- MPVS-400 Pressure-Volume Unit (replaced by 880-0168SS MPVS-Ultra Single Segment Pressure-Volume Unit*)
- Requires a PEC-4D Catheter Interface Cable (Low Profile to Redel, 4ft) for pressure measurement
- Requires a CEC-4B Conductance Catheter Connection Cable (discontinued) for volume measurement
*Please note however, this catheter cannot be used with the 880-0168SS MPVS-Ultra Single Segment Pressure-Volume Unit.
Calibration
A Pressure Gauge kit which provides the necessary items to calibrate the pressure transducers is available. Please contact your nearest ADInstruments representative for any further information.
