The Millar ultra-miniature PV catheters have revolutionized cardiovascular research as their small size means that they can be inserted directly into the heart with no effect on normal functioning of heart. Having a single catheter with the pressure sensor and electrodes allows for the simultaneous measurement of both ventricular pressure and volume from a continuously beating, intact heart.
The SSD-1033 is is a 3F Multi-Segmented, Single Field, Pressure-Volume catheter (U-tip, 140cm) which can be used in measuring ventricular function in a rabbit or cat. The single pressure sensor is located in the center of the catheter, between the electrodes. For determination of ventricular volume the catheter has eight (8) electrodes with a spacing of 4.3mm.
The catheter requires the CEC-10E PV Cable for connection to the 880-0168
MPVS Ultra Pressure-Volume Unit (small or large animals).
