Two Channel Tubing Flowmeter

Two Channel Tubing Flowmeter

Overview:

The T402-TT Two Channel Tubing Flowmeter with appropriate Flowsensors is used to make measurements of fluid flow in two tubes. Flow through a tubing system can be measured using a clip-on or flow through sensor.

Please note that the Tubing Flowmeter is not supplied with a flowsensor and must be ordered separately. Complete ADInstruments Blood/Fluid Flow Systems which include all acquisition and analysis components are also available.

Flowsensor Selection & Ordering:
PXL-Series Sterile Flowsensors:
Most non-aerated liquids can be measured using these Flowsensors, including saline and buffer solutions, blood, water and even Diesel fuel. No physical contact is made with the fluid media. PXL-Series Flowsensors can be calibrated and programmed for up to 4 different fluid/temperature/tubing combinations and will work with most flexible tubing types. Sensor size is determined by the outside diameter of the tubing.

PXN- Series In-line Flowsensors:
PXN-In-Line Flowsensors splice into laboratory tubing and measure absolute volume flow of blood and other fluids. The new four-transducer sensor design offers precision accuracy for flows from less than 1 ml/min up to flows of 100 liters/min. Flow range sensitivity is scaled to sensor size and flow is measured equally well across the full dynamic range of the sensor with little sensitivity to turbulence. Sizes 4PXN - 25PXN have barbed ultem tubing ends (barb) to connect it easily to flexible laboratory tubing. Miniature sizes 1PXN - 3 PXN may be cut to various lengths for insertion into small tubing circuits or perfusion apparati. PXN inline sensors can be calibrated for up to four fluid/temperature combinations for highest accuracy performance in isolated organ setups.

Features:

  • Highly accurate volume flow measurement
  • Ultrasound transit-time technology – the gold standard
  • Analog outputs for direct connection to PowerLab
  • Programmable calibration for different liquids
  • Lowest signal-to-tubing ratio ever for tubing flow measurement
  • Programmable gain for user calibration with different fluid/temperatures
  • Programmable alarms: low/high flow; received signal threshold alarm
  • Easy-to-read numeric LED displays set-up/system status

Applications:

The Two Channel Tubing Flowmeter in conjunction with Flowprobes is used to measure laboratory fluid flow from two tubes simultaneously. Most non-aerated liquids can be measured including saline and buffer solutions, blood, water and even Diesel fuel with the PXL-Series Flowsensors.

For measurements of absolute volume flow of blood and other fluids the PXN-In-Line Flowsensors can splice into laboratory tubing for use in isolated organ studies.

For more information about this application see the Blood Flow page.
