LabAuthor

 software provides educators with an easy-to-use tool for editing and writing LabTutor experiments. LabAuthor users can edit any of the preconfigured LabTutor experiments, or create their own experiments using the student-friendly LabTutor interface and step-by-step experiment structure.

 

Easy-to-Use Authoring and Editing Tools

LabAuthor educators do not have to learn any programming or html code. The software has a straightforward graphical user interface. You simply click, hold and drag new objects (including video and audio files), text and graphics into the experiment pages. Users can also edit the pages of existing LabTutor experiments quickly and easily.

The LabAuthor Toolbox provides all the tools you need. Formatting toolbars and menus appear once you have selected a specific object. You can use LabTutor to set up data acquisition channels with the correct filtering and display settings for your signal and experiment.

LabAuthor Functions

Using LabAuthor, LabTutor educators can:

• Delete, edit or expand the background information
• Provide students with set-up instructions specific to your lab's equipment and layout
• Edit terminology to match your institution's curriculum
• Shorten experiments by removing exercises or dividing experiments into two or more sections
• Expand experiments by adding new data acquisition and analysis exercises
• Use the LabTutor Kernel to create settings and sample data files so students can record more or different signals during the experiment
• Create new tables and graphs to log and display the data recorded in the acquisition panels
• Insert multiple choice questions, new report questions, or make existing questions easier or more difficult
• Add pop-up windows, subpages or light boxes into any experiment page to offer students more information, or more detailed instructions
• Add high quality mp3 (sound) and mp4 (video) files to your experiments to include additional material and improve student understanding of complex ideas
• Use all these tools to create an entirely new LabTutor experiment to perfectly suit students and classrooms
