Spike Histogram Module for Windows

Overview:

The MLS062/7 Spike Histogram Module for Windows provides neuroscientist in conjunction with our PowerLab systems, the ability to record and analyze extracellular spike data in real time and offline.

This module provides the user with the ability to discriminate and analyze extracellular neural spike activity, featuring a simple dual height/width discriminator.

The Spike Histogram Module should be used with the latest version of LabChart.

The Spike Histogram Module is also available as part of LabChart Pro. The LabChart Pro software package includes all LabChart Modules. Existing LabChart users and PowerLab system purchasers can upgrade to LabChart Pro at a special price. If you need more information please contact your ADInstruments Representative.

• The Discriminator Settings window allows the user to define noise threshold (V) and waveform period (secs), selection of automated spike detection and the filtering of unwanted units.
• Four specialized histogram windows:
• Rate Meter plots the spike firing rate against time
• Amplitude displays a histogram of spike amplitudes from different populations
• Interspike Interval displays a histogram of interspike intervals distribution
• Peristimulus Time Histograms examines changes in neural firing rates due to a repeated stimulus
• Data collected by the spike detection parameters are updated and logged into analysis windows in real time. The chart file and analysis windows can be viewed simultaneously.
• Ability to export to NeuroExplorer software for advanced analysis of spike trains. NeuroExplorer provides an extensive set of spike train analysis options and histograms including autocorrelograms, crosscorrelograms, burst analysis, spectral analysis and Poincaré maps.
