The Diving Response (Korean)

List of all LabTutor 3 Experiments

Many marine animals exhibit a reduction in heart rate and reduced circulation to the periphery during periods of breath-holding while submerged.

In this experiment students will investigate the effects of the diving response on heart rate and peripheral circulation in humans during simulated dives as well ar breath holding.

In this experiment students will:

  • Describe the physiological changes seen in the diving response
  • Describe the physiological effects of breath-holding
  • List physiological differences between breath-holding and diving
  • Discuss the physiological implications of the diving response
