The current version of the LabChart Application is 6.1.1.
The updates below can be used to upgrade by:
existing LabChart 6 users.
existing Chart 5 users whose PowerLab and/or Chart 5 software was delivered after December 1 2007.
customers who purchased Chart Pro and LabChart Pro software.
To download this update, use the link below. Your existing Chart 5 (delivered after December 1 2007) or Chart Pro license will continue to work with this new version.
If you are using an older version of Chart (ie Chart v5.5.5 or earlier, delivered before December 1 2007) then you will have to
buy an upgrade to LabChart 6 (ie Chart v5.5.5 -> LabChart 6.0).
Downloading of updates is free for LabChart 6 users but requires a password. If you do not have a password register here. (If you have forgotten your password, click here).

Cyclic Measurements can now operate on very large LabChart data files. Digitally Signed PowerLab USB Drivers
The ADInstruments PowerLab USB driver (v2.0.3) has been digitally signed by Microsoft for use with Windows XP and Windows Vista.
This provides an improved user experience on Windows XP, where attaching a PowerLab will now result in the PowerLab driver being installed automatically, without the 'Windows Found New Hardware Wizard' being presented. Document Buttons
A 'Bring to Front' menu item has been added to the right-click pop-up menu for the status-bar document buttons. This new command shows all views for the selected document, while not hiding views for other documents. The selected document is made active. File-size And Data Buffer Limits Removed
Previous versions of LabChart limited the file-size to 2GB and the data buffer to 1GB. These limits have been removed in LabChart v6.1.1 Help Buttons Added To Standard Extensions Dialogs
Context-sensitive help buttons have been added to the Derivative, Digital Filter, Integral, Shift and Smoothing setting dialogs. Help Center
Help Center now merges (provides an index of and searching in) the Helps for all installed modules and extensions. The Help Center also provides indexed search of PDF user guides for all installed modules and those extensions with PDF user guides. Language Versions
LabChart v6.1.1 is now available in Simplified Chinese and Japanese language versions. Layouts
The Custom Layout toolbar buttons now has a facility to edit the label for the button. This is available though the 'Add Layout' and 'Edit Layout' dialogs. The character limit for the button label is four. Macros
- Macros can now be exported as .vbs or .bas script files
- Macros now work with the new LabChart Layouts
- LabChart macros can now be interspersed with old Chart 5 macros Maximum Horizontal Compression
The Chart View channel compression now has an upper limit of 20k:1 (instead of 2k:1). Monitor Mode
The monitor mode shading in the channel data panes has been made darker when running on Windows Vista. This gives better contrast with record mode.
Smoothing Width In Seconds
The smoothing channel calculation allows the filter width to be specified in seconds for the Triangular and the new Averaging smoothing types. Unlimited Sampling
Sampling now has an absolute limit of 16 Terabytes of compressed data. Every 2 billion samples (5 hours 33 minutes at 100 kS/s in the fastest channel) a new block is started, sampling is not stopped and the samples are continuous from one block to the next.
In practice, sampling will be limited by the free space available on the drive containing the user's temp folder, by the performance of the user's PC, and by the type of PowerLab they have. Important Information Installer
The LabChart v6.1.1 installer can now be used to install LabChart onto systems running 32-bit Windows XP, 32-bit Windows Vista and 64-bit Windows Vista. Known Issues
Cyclic Measurements
When making Data Pad measurements on Cyclic Measurements channel calculations, values obtained from calculated channel data that spans both the last and second last cycle within a record may be in error. Preset Comments
Having "Function Key" Preset Comments set can cause LabChart sampling to stop when switching into and out of monitor mode. This issue can also be seen when using "Internal Timer" Triggering. Triggering
