Comments
- The Comments window now contains a text filtering field to allow only those comments meeting the filtering criterion to be displayed in the list.
- Comments on data are now movable. Clicking on a comment or right-clicking and selecting 'Move comment' enables a handle that allows the comment to be dragged within the data.
Document Toolbar
A new document toolbar has been added to LabChart. Selecting a document from the toolbar will minimize all other open documents and show the selected document. Pressing Shift+Tab will switch between documents and Ctrl+Tab will cycle through windows in the current document.
Front-end Support
LabChart now supports the use of an external stimulator on a PowerLab with an Isolated Stimulator. The external stimulator will override the Isolated Simulator.
Help Center
LabChart has a new Help Center that provides ready access to supporting ADInstruments documentation and allows searches to be performed across all of the hardware and software manuals.
Layouts
Functionality has been added to the toolbar to allow for the creation of user-defined LabChart layouts. The layouts provide a way of restoring preferred 'workspaces' while working in the application.
Macros / Scripting
- When recording a Save As operation in a macro, the Save As dialog now provides an option for overwriting any existing file with the same name.
- The Set Selection dialog is now macro-recordable.
Movable Data
The Ctrl key in combination with the mouse can be used to 'throw' data or make it follow the mouse, to aid in the reviewing of data.
Multi-rate Sampling
LabChart now supports multi-rate sampling.
Preset Comments
There are two new Preset Comments Smart Comments - #T and #Y; that will show the current time in 12-hours and 24-hour format respectively.
Right-click (Contextual) Menus
Contextual menus have been introduced into many areas of LabChart. The menus can be accessed by Ctrl-clicking or right-clicking.
Scripting / Editable Macros
Macros are now recorded into an editing dialog as VBScripts. Macros/scripts can be edited and sections of macros/scripts can be easily copied to other documents.
Several example scripts have been included with LabChart and can be found in the Example Macros tab of the Manage Macros dialog, in the Macro menu.
Tiling
- The Smart Tile command arranges all currently open views to use the available window space, while keeping their proportions and location relative to their original positions.
- There is a new Tile Miniwindows command that will arrange all currently open miniwindows (by type) directly under the LabChart toolbar.
Toolbar
- A new toolbar has been provided for LabChart. The available toolbar groups can be switched on or off though the use of a right-click toolbar menu. The toolbar also contains new icons for the toolbar buttons.
- A new button has been included in the LabChart toolbar that when clicked lists all comments in the current document.
Trigger
- Pre-trigged data can now be monitored by enabling the 'Monitor data while waiting for trigger' option within the Trigger dialog.
- There is now a 'Stimulator Start' mode in the Trigger dialog, whereby LabChart can be set to start sampling based on the first stimulator pulse or step.
