Nicola Smith, Associate Academic Dean (Curriculum)

Nicola will share how she is using a blended learning approach to teach veterinary students how to learn and use basic sciences.
Nicola is an Associate Academic Dean (Curriculum) at the School of Veterinary Science , Massey University. She has taught in all years of Massey's Bachelor of Veterinary Science program and has a special interest in the role of basic sciences in developing adaptive expertise in veterinary students. Her current focus is on redevelopment of physiology and anatomy learning to make it a more enjoyableand productive process for both students and staff.
Last year, Nicola was the recipient of the Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellance and in the same year was awarded The Massey College of Sciences Teaching Award. Nicola also qualified as Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
