About the Presenter:

Sam Hughes

Sam is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist registered with ‘Exercise and Sports Science Australia’. He currently works within the Brain and Mental Health research field at Monash University’s BrainPark, alongside a multidisciplinary team of Neuroscientists and Psychologists. Passionate about the interplay between brain health, physical health and exercise he creates operation procedures in physical exercise measurements, programs, data handling and analysis. Notable research topics he is involved in include exercise effects on hippocampal integrity in long-term Cannabis users; and exercise effects on compulsivity traits in subclinical OCD populations. Prior to working in research, he worked as a clinician for 10 years.
