Overview

DMT Myographs feature single or multiple chambers (up to 10 ml) suitable for the examination of vessels/tubular structures of diameters greater than 60 µm. Models feature a window in the base, which is ideal for use with a microscope for morphological and fluorescence measurements. DMT Myographs come with a control unit, temperature control, built-in high-resolution force transducer and micrometer.

The control unit has an analog output which can be connected directly to a PowerLab BNC input. Alternatively, for most myographs, the DMT Device Enabler streams data directly into LabChart Pro Software (details on the DMT Device Enabler page).

The following items are included with DMT Wire Myographs:

Myo-Interface Unit

  • Calibration kit (including bridge, balance and 2 gram weight)

Auto Dual Wire Myograph System

DMT520A

Suitable for simultaneous testing of two vessels/tubular structures (> 60 µm) exposed to identical drug concentrations. The chamber (10 mL) can also be divided for separate drug tests at the same time. A window in the base of the chamber provides access for morphological fluorescence measurements. This unit features automated control of the micropositioners and the ability to automate and determine passive length-tension relationships of the vessels.

This Myograph system is supported by the DMT Device Enabler, which streams data directly into LabChart Pro Software.

Confocal Wire Myograph System

DMT360CW

Used for obtaining highly resolved images of fluorescent dyes within living tissues (> 60 µm) using laser-scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM). In combination with LSCM, simultaneous measurements of isometric forces and intracellular Calcium or pH can be made.

This Myograph system is supported by the DMT Device Enabler, which streams data directly into LabChart Pro Software.

Dual Wire Myograph System

DMT420A

Suitable for simultaneous testing of two vessels/tubular structures (> 60 µm) exposed to identical drug concentrations. The chamber (10 mL) can also be divided into two compartments for separate drug tests at the same time. A window in the base of the chamber provides access for morphological fluorescence measurements and the chamber cover features ports for oxygenation and removal of solution.

This Myograph system is supported by the DMT Device Enabler, which streams data directly into LabChart Pro Software.

Multi Wire Myograph System

DMT620M

Ideal for multiple testing of vessel reactivity with the chambers (8 mL volume) arranged conveniently side by side in a single unit. It is ideal for work requiring high throughput such as drug screening. Each chamber of the myograph features needle valves for individual control of chamber oxygenation, automatic time control of chamber suction and selectable force ranges. The unit comes with wire jaws, for tissues greater than 60 µm diameter. The myograph also comes with pins which are used for studies involving larger vessels or tubular structures of diameters up to 10 mm.

This Myograph system is supported by the DMT Device Enabler, which streams data directly into LabChart Pro Software.

Muscle Strip Myograph System

DMT820MS

Introducing the first state-of-the-art 4 channel myograph for muscle strips of up 15 mm in length. Developed for simultaneous measurements of up to four isolated skeletal or other muscle preparations, which are mounted as a strip between clamp supports. Several types of mounting supports exist, contact us for assistance.

The rectangular shape of the chambers in the 'muscle unit' can also be used for the study of larger strips of various organs including larger pieces of smooth muscle.  Each chamber insert unit has individually controlled gas inflow and solution suction and is made of high quality stainless steel to simplify cleaning. The system is automatically heated to a given set temperature above ambient.

MyoDynamics Muscle Strip Myograph System

DMT840MD

The DMT840MD MyoDynamics Muscle Strip Myograph System is ideal for simultaneous force/tension measurement of four skeletal, cardiac muscle or other tissue strips >3 – 19 mm. The support attached to a combination of a manual positioner screw and a motorized micro positioned allows accurate setting of preload while permitting tissue stretching/relaxation from 10 μm up to 11mm with a maximum speed of 11 mm/sec. It has 4 acid-resistant 4 mL stainless steel chambers with chamber lid containing ports for rapid draining and gas supply. A touch-screen interface provides heating controls. Four sensitive force transducers are supplied (disclaimed from warranty). A calibration kit, linear and vacuum grease are included. The BNC-BNC cables to connect to a PowerLab are purchased separately. 

Single Wire Myograph System

DMT320A

Suitable for the examination of vessels/tubular structures of diameters greater than 60 µm. This model has a window in the base, which is ideal for use with a microscope for morphological and fluorescence measurements.

This Myograph system is supported by the DMT Device Enabler, which streams data directly into LabChart Pro Software.

Tissue Bath System

DMT720MO

A 4-channel myograph system designed for measuring tension simultaneously in studies of up to four isolated larger blood vessels (>500 μm). Suitable for other large circular tissue preparations, such as trachea or gut mounted as larger ring preparations up to 10 mm.

Each single myograph unit is made of aluminum and has a round, centrally placed 8 ml stainless steel chamber for easy cleaning. The segment supports are pins positioned in the chamber where one side is attached to a built-in force transducer and the other side is attached to a micropositioner. The sensitive force transducers allow measurements of isometric muscle tension while micropositioners allow the atraumatic setting of optimal diameter.
