RPC-1 Single Receiver (for Plastic Cage, F0)

DSI00101-P

This receiver is used for monitoring small animals in a typical plastic cage setup and collects data from any 455kHz associated PhysioTelTM implant. The receiver is placed underneath the cage.


RPC-2 Dual Receiver (for Plastic Cage, F1&F2)

DSI00102-P

This receiver has two antennas and is either used to collect signals from two small animals in a paired housing setup, or signals from two implant in an individual animal. It is dual frequency and designed for use with the 4ET PhysioTelTM Small Implants where one implant has an 8 MHz frequency and the other has an 18 MHz frequency.


RPC-3 Dual Receiver (for Plastic Cage, F0&F2)

DSI00103-P

This receiver has two antennas and is either used to collect signals from two small animals in a paired housing setup, or signals from two implant in an individual animal. It is dual frequency and designed for use with the HD-S11 PhysioTelTM HD Small Implants where one implant has a 455 kHz frequency and the other has an 18 MHz frequency.


RSC-1 Single Receiver (for Special Cage, F0)

DSI00111-P

Same functionality as the RPC-1, but with a much smaller profile. Suited for specialized cage configurations like use of a running wheel, metabolic cage or large maze.

Overview

PhysioTelTM Receivers retrieve the broadcasted telemetry data from specific implant transmitters via radio frequency signals and then convert this telemetry information into a form readily accessible for analysis. Receivers are powered by their connection to the MX2 Matrix 2.0 which manages all telemetry data communication to the acquisition computer. 

Multiple receiver options exist and selection depends on the implant model and caging setup you have chosen. In most cases the receiver is placed directly underneath the cage.

Additional hardware and software is required to complete recording and analysis. Available for purchase separately or as part of the Biopotential Telemetry Foundation System or Pressure Telemetry Foundation System.

Each receiver:

  • Has a signal range, which is sufficient to cover a distance of up to 41 cm (16 ”)
  • Is powered by the MX2 or the PoE Switch via the MX2
  • Is supplied with a 4.5 m connecting cable

1Please note that the distributed receiver array (DRA) feature allows groups of 2, 4, or 8 receivers to be used with a single animal to expand the coverage area and improve signal quality. A single data stream is passed back to the data acquisition computer based on instantaneous switching to the receiver that has the strongest signal strength. The DRA function requires that all receivers within a group to be the same receiver model.
 

Cleaning the receiver can be done by wiping it down with disinfectant only.
