It has been described that respiratory sinus arrhythmia is a sensitive noninvasive index of parasympathetic cardiac control.
LabChart has no specific analysis module or extension to estimate RSA. However, we can provide you with a macro that will help to analyse your data based on the “peak-valley estimation” described by P. Grossman et al., Psychophysiology 1990.
Prerequisite for the macro to work:
a channel with a respiration trace, either using a flow head/pneumotachograph or a respiratory belt transducer.
a channel with ECG trace
