Since the LabTutor Server is run as a Tomcat-deployed J2EE application you might wonder, if it is possible to deploy the ROOT.war to an existing Tomcat 7 container.
This, however, is not supported. The LabTutor Server installer is very specific as to the location of its components. As there are several dependencies that are location reliant it would be extremely difficult to successfully achieve such installation without breaking it.
